How much geometry you are raycasting against (more = slower) The resolution you are rendering your color picking at (higher = slower) How you've implemented either solution (CPU raycasting? vs GPU color picking? or something else?). WebWell, a more common way of doing 3D picking is with object/line intersection tests. This is very fast if you use some form of space partitioning in the scene. I have provided some pseudo-code for that in the past. If you would like to test it, here it is: stackoverflow.com/a/23645092/1198654 – glampert Jul 28, 2014 at 22:28

WebThis tutorial is the continuation of the first tutorial 3D Picking Part1, where we used a bounding box rendered “behind the scenes” to find an object user has clicked on. … WebThe key to this tutorial is to find a ray in 3D going from near-plane to far-plane. We click on a point on 2D screen and we need to generate two 3D points - one close to us (one on near-plane) and second deep in the 3D screen (on far-plane). Then we …
Web26 de mai. de 2024 · in order to transform a 2d point, into a 3d point, you must perform the transform in reverse, using the inverse of the matrices: world_point = inverse (view) * inverse (projection) * mouse_point; Then, you can draw a line between the camera position, and the normalised (length of one) mouse_point vector * ray length.
